Te Muna's Liquid Gold
Olive Oil Flight/Lunch
NZ$80.00
Te Muna Valley is home to some of the finest wines in the Wairarapa. But this 'secret place' offers so much more, including exquisite olive oils. The Greeks referred to olive oil as 'liquid gold' and Blue Earth's offerings show why. Join Blue Earth and Tonic Bistro as we dive into the world of olive oils and their many uses. Margaret and Michael Hanson will share the story of their Blue Earth orchard and guide participants through a flight of their oils. Tonic will provide a three-course menu complete with cocktail or mocktail that highlight the various ways to incorporate olive oils into food and drinks.
Blue Earth specialises in extra virgin olive oil blends that are rich, textured, and vibrant. Their varieties of oils come from a mix of Barnea (Israeli), Manzanillo (Spanish), Frantoio (Italian), Leccino (Italian), and Koroneiki (Greek) trees. They adhere rigorously to sustainable practices and pay close attention to the health of their trees. Typically, fruits are pressed within 24 hours of picking and oils stored in their wine cellar to guarantee maximum freshness.
Whether you are choosing olive oil for its health benefits, its taste or as an essential ingredient, Blue Earth Olive oil can be used for cooking and for finishing: swirling on soup, roasting vegetables, making sauces, dressing salads, drizzling over barbequed or roasted meat, even muesli.
